Hi, I’m Coco. I’m an all-round problem solver, education geek, research nerd, wordsmith, polyglot and shotokan karate black belt.

By day I’m a learning & development specialist. I help people grow in their career and have fun while doing it. I develop and deliver soft skills training, guide people through the bewildering world of apprenticeships and professional qualifications, and I’m an accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainer.

I’m also an independent scholar who has always found the “academic” label too confining. I’ve published books and articles, and given talks, about topics ranging from metal music to horror literature. I also like writing fiction and creative non-fiction. And because I’m an avid and opinionated book and film lover, I have a lot to say about arts and culture.
